Lawful basis

Nationwide Hire Solutions collects and processes information at the time of enquiry, where the data subject has contacted the organisation with regard to the hire or sale of goods and services offered, thus having a legitimate interest in the activity of Nationwide Hire Solutions.

Information including name, address and contact details are collected, which are the minimum necessary details in the performance of a contract or service, and are retained to enable future communication about goods and services offered, which is done for the commercial interest of Nationwide Hire Solutions.

No special category data is collected and data is never processed in a way that could be intrusive or cause harm.

Nationwide Hire Solutions process customer, prospects and supplier information on the lawful basis of Contract and Legitimate Interest. Nationwide Hire Solutions holds separate consents for Post, Text, Email and Telephone and ask you to specify your communication preferences for each.

Nationwide Hire Solutions use trusted third parties to deliver and maintain business functions including: website and cloud hosting services, Telecoms and IT Infrastructure support and hosting, HR, payroll and direct marketing campaigns. Contractual agreements are in place to ensure that all third parties protect the privacy and security of your data.

In addition, at the time of processing your application, we will supply your personal information to credit reference agencies (CRAs) and they will give us information about you, such as your financial history. We do this to assess creditworthiness and product suitability, check your identity, manage your account, trace and recover debts and prevent criminal activity. We will also continue to exchange information about you with CRAs on an ongoing basis, including about your settled accounts and any debts not fully repaid on time. CRAs will share your information with other organisations. The identities of the CRAs, and the ways in which they use and share personal information, are explained in more detail at http://www.experian.co.uk/crain/index.html.
