What we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • Name
  • Contact information including telephone numbers and email address
  • Demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • Other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers
  • Telephone call logs

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Hire and Sales order processing.
  • We may use the information to improve our products and services.
  • We may periodically send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting
  • Market research
WowNow Hire collects and processes information at the time of enquiry, where the data subject has contacted the organisation with regard to the hire or sale of goods and services offered, thus having a legitimate interest in the activity of WowNow Hire.
Information including name, address and contact details are collected, which are the minimum necessary details in the performance of a contract or service, and are retained to enable future communication about goods and services offered, which is done for the commercial interest of WowNow Hire.
No special category data is collected and data is never processed in a way that could be intrusive or cause harm.
WowNow Hire process customer, prospects and supplier information on the lawful basis of Contract and Legitimate Interest. WowNow Hire holds separate consents for Post, Text, Email and Telephone and ask you to specify your communication preferences for each.
WowNow Hire use trusted third parties to deliver and maintain business functions including: website and cloud hosting services, Telecoms and IT Infrastructure support and hosting, HR, payroll and direct marketing campaigns. Contractual agreements are in place to ensure that all third parties protect the privacy and security of your data.
In addition, at the time of processing your application, we will supply your personal information to credit reference agencies (CRAs) and they will give us information about you, such as your financial history. We do this to assess creditworthiness and product suitability, check your identity, manage your account, trace and recover debts and prevent criminal activity. We will also continue to exchange information about you with CRAs on an ongoing basis, including about your settled accounts and any debts not fully repaid on time. CRAs will share your information with other organisations. WowNow Hire will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to other companies, and your data will not be transferred outside of the EU unless in the performance of a contract with prior consent.

WowNow Hire have data retention policies and processes in place for the different types of information collected to ensure that data is not kept for longer than necessary. You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information at any time and have the right to:
Be informed: WowNow Hire will ensure you aware of how your information is collected, why it is processed and your rights to control it.
Access: You may request details of personal information, which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 2018. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please email us.
We do not charge a fee for a subject access request except for the cases where your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive as per the ICO guidelines.
Rectification: If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please email us as soon as possible and we will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
Erasure: In the following conditions, you may request that your data be erased:
  • Where the personal data is no longer necessary in relation to the purpose for which it was originally collected/processed
  • When you have withdrawn consent
  • When you have objected to the processing and there is no overriding legitimate interest for continuing the processing
  • The data was unlawfully processed
  • The personal data must be erased in order to comply with a legal obligation
  • The personal data is processed in relation to the offer of information society services to a child
Restriction: If you are concerned about the accuracy of data held about you, or how that data is being used, you may request that processing is restricted whilst your concerns are being dealt with.
Data Portability: You may request your data to be sent to you in a machine readable format that you can share with other companies.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.
