Sideloader forklifts are named as such because the forks are mounted on the side of the truck; this makes them ideal for lifting wide or long loads in narrow aisles. There are several types of sideloader forklifts; an enclosed cab sideloader most commonly used outdoors; a stand up sideloader more suited for indoor tasks; a multi-way version with wheels capable of rotating by 90°, making them extremely versatile even in narrow aisles and tight spaces.
Sideloaders are most commonly used for tubing, pipes, sheet materials, and timber.
